COACHING THROUGH PASSION

After years of experience in collegiate athletics, exercise, education, and practical experience... we developed a vision for our future. We wanted to start our own business; one we were truly passionate and excited about. In February of 2019 we established Truss-Johnson’s Training.

We are an athlete-owned company that specializes in speed training, sports performance coaching and custom training programming.

With our individualized coaching approach; we assess, then implement training strategies that help the individual both learn and develop key aspects/skills relative to their goal(s).

We, Courtney and Tyler, both earned bachelor’s degrees from Aquinas College (B.S. Exercise Science) and achieved a combined total of nine NAIA Track & Field All-American Honors during our time at Aquinas. We both continue to compete post-collegiately, in events ranging from the 100m to the 400m.

Nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself, and NEVER GIVE UP.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

We wanted to start our 14-year-old son on an age-appropriate strength and conditioning program that incorporates plyometrics and flexibility training. Courtney and Tyler did an excellent job with our son - from initial assessment to programming, training sessions, and adjustments based on progress.

Though the initial goal was simply to provide our son with a strength and conditioning base (including the Olympic lifts), we continue to maintain and expand his newfound “weight room IQ” through periodic in-person training sessions.

The owners were high-caliber athletes that have successfully transitioned to coaches. This is especially valuable because they understand “transferability” of strength and conditioning skills to the competitive arena.

Our son is a visual learner and Truss-Johnson’s use of video analysis and breakdown of movement was key in helping him learn complex lifts and drills.

This has been one of the highest-return investments we have made. It will certainly help our son immediately in his athletic pursuits, but more importantly, he has learned how to have fun in the weight room and habits for a lifetime of fitness.
